Polly?

As I was catching up with some of my Twitter pals I came across this little nugget; the subject of this video is Ben & Jerry's Ice-Cream. As you all know; by now, I am a confirmed ice-cream addict whose ambition is to get down to Killarney to sample some of Kieran Murphy's ice-cream delight in person at the source of origin. Sadly this year we didn't make it, but maybe next year we will...

Meanwhile; returning to the subject of some hot debate caused by PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) in their letter to the popular ice-cream makers. Would you fancy eating ice-cream containing Human Breast Milk? Click on this link which will take you to a video showing some reactions of other ice-cream lovers...

Meanwhile; speaking for myself, a self-confessed dairy cow who nursed two boys for longer than she cares to remember I ask one question: "Have you ever tasted the stuff?" Well, like most adults the answer is probably no. However, most nursing mom's will tell you readily that even the smell of it becomes unpleasant after a while; especially if you're expressing.

I'll leave you to make up your own mind on this one; but it certainly is food for thought when you consider how much dairy most folks eat on a daily basis. One more thought, Mares Milk chocolate is readily available in Austrian shops and doesn't taste that bad...

Why not leave a comment and share your opinion?

I know of a lady called Bridget who writes on the irishbusinesswomen.com who is planning to make icecream from her dairy goats' milk. she lives North of the midlands. Looking forward to tasting that.

Well, if you do make it to us, I think it unlikely you'll find any milk of the human kind in our ice cream. Not that I wouldn't be intrigued on some level, but think about the logistics!

Lorna, I'm not keen on milk full stop but I love ice-cream. I don't fancy the idea of goat - I find it a bit too strong!

Kieran, the logistics don't bear thinking about. I wonder about soya milk ice-cream for the vegan's amongst us though?

Human milk ice cream; very intriguing but I certainly wouldn't be trying it.
