It's Been A While...

For some reason I decided that after a whole day of relaxing ( that should read recovering from a hectic weekend's camping) I ought to do at least one constructive thing this afternoon. Young LB is off sick from school today and is practicing self-care as Mommy zones out in front of the PC and guilt is finally beginning to get the better of me!

Apparently the last time I posted on this blog was very nearly a month ago, although this doesn't seem possible given that I seem to have been quite active recently. It was only a few minutes ago that I realised this frantic activity has either been in the real world or over on Vinca's In Tha Kitchen! Hmmm...

Frankly, between dyslexic scribbling's at various meetings across the county and celebrating Mother's Day, etc, this Scout is wrecked! Having dragged myself and BB down to the village this morning and hijacking the school bus, as he attempted to evade us in my shiny new red Nissan Micra, I went back to bed. As LB, who was by now luxuriating in the warmth of my soft pine sleigh bed steadfastly refused to either rise or eat his breakfast, I was forced to consume two bowls of sugary cereal before snuggling up next to him and making good my escape once more.

Only a phonecall from BJK could have woken me, and that it did! Dragging me ruthlessly from a well deserved overdose of sleep to the cheap black telephone receiver across the room, she was cordially greeted at 11.30am with grunts and a monotone. "Yes" "No" "Mmmh!" "Yes" and so on. All I can say is that she'd a bl@*%! cheek waking me like that...

In the meantime LB had given up on his Mom and headed back to his own not so nice, warm or snuggly bed and was simply lying there, looking up at the ceiling! Gypsophillus had at this stage been outdoors for all of three hours, enduring March showers and freezing cold winds, much of that time spend on the door step willing me to open the door. Obviously our reciprocal ESP failed her this morning, as I had slumbered through her discomfort, still, she should come when called and not disappear down Mr Clearly's rabbits hole!

My new stamp sets from America arrived last week. Sadly, they were incorrectly addressed and had been taken back to the sorting office in Tullamore. Now, despite my initial excitement and eagerness to get my handie pandies on them, I simply can't be bothered to muster the energy to move any further than the kettle in the kitchen. LB is now feeling much better and has rediscovered his young appetite, having polished off some of the bacon & leek quiche that I'd tried so hard to persuade him to eat last week. The ears off the chocolate bunny must have tasted good too, as they disappeared very quickly.

I must make some sort of an effort to get moving though, as I do have a couple of other jobs to complete in town. BB hasn't been in touch, so I'm assuming that he has absconded to his mates house after school as threatened, God help us all! Somehow, I'm going to have to try and track him down!!! My fruit and veg basket needs to be collected and I also owe Barbara aka Mother Earth the cost of ten litres of biodegradable organic detergent...

Still, perhaps in a minute the mug of tea and the Lindt chocolate bunny (- minus ears) which BB gave me for Mothers Day will work its magic on me and inject something which approximates energy into my aching body! Maybe tomorrow, being a new day will bring a burst of spring energy for me...

It has been a while, I checked in a few times!

Hope you're feeling better and that little bunny hit the spot.
