Post Budget Homage to Brian Cowan...

Hi there! Long time, no see! I've been missing in action for a few weeks now and for that I apologise. In truth I seem to have been so busy organising stuff for various charity events and groups that my family's involved in that I seem to have lost track of the other important stuff that I do for myself.

Admittedly, I've still been getting a little bit of exercise while surfing the net; sometimes for my on-going projects and just occasionally to let off a little bit of steam. I have however occasionally found something that tickled my fancy, whether this be safety warnings regarding car-jacking or something a little more light hearted. You see, I have been thinking of ye after all...

Anyway, one of the bits and pieces that caught my eye is the poster below. In short I found it on my i-Google desk top where I display the various RSS feeds of my favourite sites and blogs amongst the world clock, currency calculator and on-line time clock that I forget to use with alarming regularity. Nestled amongst these fascinating gadgets are the RTE Breaking News widget and several other similar things; but, right there in the midst of this is Laughing Lion Design.

Laughing Lion Design, owned and run by Jennifer Farley, offers graphic design, illustration, photo manipulation and photography services. Having worked as a designer for ten years, producing websites and graphic design for companies in Ireland, U.S. Australia and the UK Jennifer also works as an instructor, training clients in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Flash – the tools of the web trade.

This of course is where I come in! I enjoy amateur photography, with designs on creating professional quality photo's. Laughing Lion Design is a wealth of information for folk like me, ie those who have the interest, maybe even the means but haven't a clue what to do! Her Photoshop tutorials have proven invaluable.

One of the other reasons I subscribed to Laughing Lion Design is Jennifer's sense of humour which is clearly demonstrated by her artwork on this posts homage to our Taoiseach Brian Cowan in the wake of our most recent budget. Although a parody in nature, Jennifer has managed to produce this cynical piece of work without resorting to the usual unflattering caricatures that we're all so tired of by now...
